EXPERIENCE
- Certified Public Accountant practicing for over 25 years specializing in municipal governments
- Outside auditor and financial consultant for the Town of New Hartford for 15 years from 1984 to 1998
- Served as Comptroller for the Town of New Hartford from November 1998 to December 2001
- Financial consultant for Town of New Hartford from January 2002 to December 2003
- Engaged as outside auditor for numerous Towns, Villages and Authorities in Oneida and Herkimer Counties
- Past Chairman of Upper Mohawk Valley Water Finance Authority
- Past Village of New Hartford Trustee
KNOWLEDGE & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
As Comptroller Tyksinski achieved outstanding financial results for the Town of New Hartford:
- Fund Balance increased from $400,000 to $5,000,000
- Town property taxes remained stable with no increase in tax rates over the three years
- Short-term borrowing was stopped saving the Town thousands of dollars each year
- Earnings on invested funds increased from $70,000 a year to over $200,000 a year helping to keep tax rates low
- Town’s credit rating was raised by the credit rating agencies of Moody’s Investor Services and Standard & Poor’s
- First time in over thirty years the Town’s credit rating was raised, and it was raised not only once but twice during Tyksinski’s term as Comptroller. Increased ratings helped to save the Town over a $100,000 a year in reduced interest expenses
